Why fans watch the Super Bowl
- 41% watch primarily for the game, 19% for socializing and hosting, 15% for the commercials, and 14% for the halftime show.
- 63% of viewers say commercials “at least sometimes” influence purchases, and 58% have ordered from a quick-service restaurant after seeing a fun or engaging online post. Social media and ads continue to convert excitement into action, especially for food and snacks.
Tips for business owners and consumers
If you sell fast food or snack food, you need to create engaging posts PDQ. And remember, consumers are looking for deals today.
RetailMeNot’s Stephanie Carls says if you’re in the market for a new TV, this week (or what remains of it) is a good time to buy since retailers are offering lots of deals. Carls says look for special deals from restaurants and pizza places on food delivery apps.
There are deals at many grocery stores as well (I’ve been waiting for Diet Coke specials this week, and my local grocery store did not disappoint).
As for the game, as a native New Yorker, I was raised to hate the Patriots, so go Seahawks!
