New Twitter Tool for Small Businesses

1 Mins read

Brick-and-mortar retailers got a helping hand from Twitter when it launched a new tool about a month ago. Businesses with Twitter Professional accounts and physical business locations can use Location Spotlight to display their business address, hours of operation, and additional contact information on their Twitter pages. This lets customers contact you via phone, text, email, or Twitter DM (direct message).

Launched worldwide a little over a month ago, users of Location Spotlight can add a map of their business locations so customers can click on the map and get directions to their stores, restaurants, or offices via Google Maps or their default map app.

American companies with qualifying accounts can also take advantage of Twitter’s Shop Spotlight, a dedicated space at the top of their profile pages where businesses can showcase their products. Twitter says the Spotlight “is meant to enable serendipitous shopping moments right on Twitter. When this spotlight is enabled, potential customers can scroll through the carousel of products,” tap on one product to learn more and purchase, all in an in-app browser, without having to leave Twitter.”

Twitter plans to add more professional tools. To see what’s currently available, you can check out Twitter’s Help Center. If you want access to these tools, you need to convert to a Twitter Professional Account.
