Huzzah! Holiday Sales Soared!

1 Mins read

In great news for retailers, Mastercard’s SpendingPulse says holiday sales (from November 1-December 24) rose at the fastest pace in 17 years.

Holiday spending was up 8.5% from 2020 and 10.7% from 2019. And online sales rose 11% from 2020 & 61% from 2019.

The SpendingPulse tracks all types of payments, including those made via credit cards, cash, and debit cards.

Clothing and jewelry were particularly in-demand items.

We’ll learn more when the National Retail Federation (NRF) releases its revenue numbers in January.

So much for the doomsayers who predicted a gloomy holiday shopping season.
